The Wadena United Church gave players a chance to perform together at a variety show on April 27.
Local musicians took the opportunity to help the church and demonstrate that there is no shortage of people in our area who are willing and able to entertain.
Reverend Rolanda Taylor welcomed everyone to the church and, as well as introducing each act, she told some jokes to get everyone relaxed and laughing.
Starting out the lineup was the Olson Band, who played lively old-time music to provoke some toe-tapping. The Pipestone Men’s Choir followed, then local fiddler Jennifer Jones and singer Hazelanne Sowa:
After the coffee break, the entertainment continued with Ron Paul accompanying himself on guitar. Forrest Pederson on trumpet and Darlene Storos on piano played a couple tunes, and Cindy Goodman followed with some cowboy poetry:
The Spirit of Hope Pastoral Charge Joint Choir finished the afternoon.
Many of the songs were familiar and the audience clapped or sang along for an afternoon of true community fellowship.
