As the Wadena News is closed for holidays until Aug. 4, here’s a list of what’s on in the next few weeks:
Be sure to check out Ukrainetz Auctions online for the Fullawka farm auction with opening bids accepted starting July 17 and closing July 24. Check out their full catalogue at
Don’t miss the next Wadena Farmer’s Market at their new location in the Quonset at Wadena & District Museum, Saturday, July 18 and Saturday Aug. 1. Check out their Facebook page for updates on COVID-19 restrictions.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, our Member of Parliament, Cathay Wagantall, will be hosting a town hall on Facebook rather than her annual meet-and-greet. Be sure to tune in to listen on July 22 between 7-8 p.m. or give her office in Yorkton a call for more information 306-782-3309.
If you know of a student who may need a little cash for post-secondary education, Crossroads Credit Union is offering a $100o scholarship. The deadline for applications is Aug. 4, so don’t take too long to think about it. https://www.crossroadscu.ca
Last but not least, many of you know the news office is now home to Animal Care & Control for the town of Wadena. Andy currently has two great dogs up for adoption, both young male border collie crosses. Adoption fees are on a cost-recovery basis for neutering and shots. Call Andy 306-338-9006 if you are interested in either of these two. Both would make excellent farm dogs for the experienced handler/owner.
