Proceeds from the barbecue were earmarked to benefit Wadena’s new food bank, and supporters flocked over to chat with friends beneath the hot sun and have a look at the interior of the store, which has undergone some renovations since it was purchased by the Co-op in January this year.

The Co-op in Wadena now employs more than 70 people and operates the food store, hardware store and greenhouse, cardlock, gas bar and convenience store, as well as the home centre.
